What happened to you, Jolene?
Music: Emma Nilsdotter
Lyrics: Emma Nilsdotter and Jade Ell

Don’t know if you recall my name, Jolene?
We never really meet you see
A voice on the line, such a long time ago
That’s when I had to let you know

I prayed for you to understand
That I could never love another man, that’s what I said
And I never thought I’d think this way
But love is like a butterfly among the wild, wild roses
Sometimes they just leave
What happened to you, Jolene?

I stayed with him and I got to wear that crown
Was the proudest girl ever known around
But underneath those many coats of paint
Lies a truth a time will surely taint

I tried so hard to settle down but the flowers never grew they just withered
I never thought I’d feel this way
But love is like a butterfly among the wild, wild roses
Sometimes they just leave
What happened to you, Jolene?

What did become of you when you set sail
Did you find your dreams, or did they pale?
Hands full of kids, the house and family
Somewhere along I lost the real me

He spends more time with his beer and friends
And the color of your happiness have faded
I never thought I’d hear me say
But love is like a butterfly among the wild, wild roses
So that’s why I have to leave
Now what happened to you, Jolene?

What happened to you, Jolene?
What happened, what happened?

I’m not your girl – Feat. Frida Öhrn
Music: Emma Nilsdotter
Lyrics: Emma Nilsdotter and Jennifer Saxell

I’ve been around with many ups and downs
Long ago I found my own direction
I’m not afraid of my own shadow now
I have come to trust my own reflection
I’m hardly easy, far from weak
Won’t be falling at your feet so go ahead
You whistle and you wave when I walk by
like you own me, but honey you don’t know me

I am a mother, a daughter, a sister and a lover
But I, I’m not your girl
I am a beacon of fire, a Grail, Holy water
I could be anything
But I’m not your girl remember this
I’m not your girl
That’s all there is

If you think that I’m not tough enough
To stand up, n’ stick to my convictions
Your superficial charm don’t move me much
That’s a fact, that is not just fiction
I am woman hear me roar
I pull my weight, I open doors, so bring it on
You whistle and you wave when I walk by
like you own me, but darling you don’t know me

I am a mother, a daughter, a sister and a lover
But I, I’m not your girl
I am a beacon of fire, a Grail, Holy water
I could be anything
But I’m not your girl remember this
I’m not your girl
That’s all there is

Suitcase
Music and lyrics: Emma Nilsdotter and Steve Eriksson

This is where I used to live
Same old houses, empty streets
It brings back memories of you you and I
And leaves me standing for a while

When I raise my voice I sing another melodie
What I thought was you and I will never be
On the road I’m bout to take all I’m bringing is
That old suitcase you gave to me

You gave me wings, you held me high
And I closed my eyes and went up in the sky
So irresponsible, unbreakable,
I acted like a child
That you would leave never crossed my mind

When I raise my voice I sing another melodie
What I thought was you and I will never be
On the road I’m bout to take all I’m bringing is
That old suitcase you gave to me

Now I found myself alone
And I’m walking slowly into that great unknown
We used to sing, we used to dance on and on
Tell me, where did that love go?

When I raise my voice I sing another melodie
What I thought was you and I will never be
On the road I’m bout to take all I’m bringing is
That old suitcase you gave to me

The Story of Billy Ray
Music and lyrics: Emma Nilsdotter

Billy Ray was a lonely child
He used to play on the side and he never asked why
People said he looked just like his older brother
The thing is he never got to know him
for he left with the others

One day his mother said
“My Son, it’s time for you to leave as war approaches
near”
He dreamt of conquering the world but not like this
So he left his sister with a one last kiss

He sleeps in the cold in the attic
But at least he is closer to the sun
Safe from the storm, yet the loneliness roams
Memories of dead-end roads
Anything is better,
it’s just not home

Last year about this time
Billy Ray flew his kite on the mountainside
Now he’s a stranger on strange ground
Nobody knows
His scattered dream, a story untold

Meet me uptown
Music: Emma Nilsdotter
Lyrics: Emma Nilsdotter and Jennifer Saxell

Meet me uptown this Saturday night
We can walk the streets under neon lights
And stay until the morning

I’ve always been a dreamer
My mama told me that I will be just fine
As long as I never forget to believe that
I’ve already got all it takes to fly

But I battle my demons
Sometimes a brave heart and sometimes I just fail
’Cause life is such a winding rollercoaster
I’m scared that I’ll end up with nothing but just broken wings

So meet me uptown this Saturday night
We can walk the streets under neon lights
And maybe we will have a drink or two
We can crash a party, baby, play it cool
Meet me uptown, yeah, that’s where we’ll go
Heading to the stars, nobody knows
I feel it in my heartbeat, let’s go right
It’s time for dreams to take flight
This Saturday night

I think I’m going crazy
The grind is wearing me out, bringing me down
But if I crash, I will burn like a phoenix
And when I let go, I’ll be just fine, I’ll be just fine

So come meet me in the city
At the corner where I first met you
I can hear the music calling
How ’bout you?
How ’bout you?

Shelter in the storm
Music and lyrics: Emma Nilsdotter,
Izak Danielsson-Kihlström, Per Alexandersson

Have I told you how I feel
When I’m with you everything is real
It don’t matter where I’m at
I can be across the ocean
And still I know whenever I get back
That old familiar porch with wooden cracks
All the sounds I haven’t noticed until now

And it’s you,
You’re the only one that makes me whole again
You, you’re the anchor
You’re my only shelter in the storm
When the wind’s too strong

Did I tell you that I see
All those little things you do for me
And even if I stumble or if I fall
You wait for me
And you pick me ut whenever I feel small
You take me to that place that I call home
All the sounds I missed so much
while I was gone

ON A WIRE
Music and lyrics: Emma Nilsdotter and Jade Ell

There’s a wind blowing knowing what lies ahead
Dark horizon building up a wall of hate
Can we compromise, can we understand
find comfort in a haunted land
Will this be the longest run ever known to man?

So I fill my mind with pictures of another day
Safe ground where I can hear the children play
There’s a devil dancing in the acid rain
why are we choosing this fast lane
This could be the longest run ever known to man

We’re on a wire
Help me ‘cause I think I’m falling
only you can hold my vision straight
and I am safe again
to long for another morning light
When you hold me I don’t wanna waste a minute
and there in your arms
the nights when I don’t get no sleep
I need you close, Stay close to me
Stay close to me

In these last hours only stars are shining bright
So I imagine myself walking into that light
We got a long, long way to go
I’m putting hope on the centerfold
be the change that we’re longing for

We’re on a wire
Help me keep my vision straight
Keep me steady, keep me safe
We’re on a wire, on a wire

I STILL DO – Feat. Erik Jansson
Music: Emma Nilsdotter
Lyrics: Emma Nilsdotter and Jennifer Saxell

You gave me your number
I kept it on the bottom of a drawer
Such a sad piece of paper whatever did I save it for?
I left you there on the sidewalk
Had to get out ‘cause you were living too fast
And I knew when I let you go I’d never get you back
On my way home from work sitting in my car
I heard something on the radio

It was a country song and it brought me all back to you
That man was singing his heart out
Telling bout a love I once knew
So if you ever thought I missed you
Well baby, I still I do
oh…I still do

I gave you my number tho I knew you’d never call
By the way that you looked at me
I saw the writings on the wall
Now you got kids and a family
Fancy house and a beautiful life
But I can’t help thinking what living with you would be like
On my way back home sitting on the bus
I heard something on the radio

It was a country song and it brought me all back to you
That man was singing his heart out
Telling bout a love I once knew
Now if you ever thought I missed you
Well baby, I still I do
oh…I still do

All these feelings caught me off guard
I had to sit down with my guitar
And if you ever get to hear this
The maybe I’ll through to you

Cause I wrote this country song
To bring myself back to you
And I’m singing my heart out
Telling ’bout the love I once knew
So if you ever thought I missed you
Well, baby I still do
Oh…I still do

It’s not me, it’s you
Music: Emma Nilsdotter
Lyrics: Emma Nilsdotter and Jade Ell

I’ve been thinking
Time and again now I’ve discovered
I’ve got this feeling
Call it a need so I just throw it out
This may come as a surprise.
I guess you didn’t see it coming, now did you?
No need for me to prolong,
It’s so clear to me what is wrong

It’s not me, it’s you
I think it’s time we weather this new situation
It’s not fair, it’s true
I’ll never be your heaven
There’s nothing more to do
It’s a game and you loose
Now get out of my way I’m coming through
Cause I’m on the move

We had our moments
Some kind of romance that was alright
Then I started noticing
You where stuck in the same place
While I was growing
It might sting for a little while,
But baby, you’ll heal in time,
no need to cry about it.
I’ll do my best to keep it smooth,
But something’s gone wrong,
and here’s the truth.

It’s not me, it’s you
I think it’s time we weather this new situation
It’s not fair, it’s true
I’ll never be your heaven
There’s nothing more to do
It’s a game and you loose
Now get out of my way I’m coming through
Cause I’m on the move
